Holly River State Park

Holly River State Park is a forested area in the Appalachian Mountains with more than 40 hiking trails that wind through wooded hills and along streams. The grounds include campsites, simple cabins built from stone and wood, and picnic areas for day visitors.

The park area was developed in the 1930s when a major work project built trails and structures here. These early investments laid the groundwork for today's visitor infrastructure.

The annual Holly River Festival during Labor Day weekend includes talent shows, local music performances, craft exhibitions, and traditional contests.

Visitors can find campsites with various levels of facilities, from basic tent spots to comfortable cabins. The grounds are walkable, and hikers should bring sturdy footwear since trails pass through wet and hilly terrain.

Two distinctive waterfalls form along the hiking trails where water drops over rocky ledges and creates small pools. These natural features draw photographers and nature watchers to specific spots.
