Holly River State Park spans 8,101 acres of dense forest terrain and features 42 miles of trails through mountain landscapes reaching 2,800 feet.
The park began in 1937 as a Farm Security Administration project, with 250 Works Progress Administration workers constructing facilities and rehabilitating the land.
The annual Holly River Festival during Labor Day weekend includes talent shows, local music performances, craft exhibitions, and traditional contests.
The park offers 88 camping units with electric hookups, four central bathhouses, and ten furnished cabins constructed with local stone and timber.
Two waterfalls, Tecumseh and Upper Falls, cascade from rock formations along hiking paths, creating natural landmarks within the forest setting.
