The Hotel Roosevelt stands 12 stories high with brick exterior and Regency ornamentation, including medallions, garlanded panels, and finials along the parapet.
Built in 1927 as Cedar Rapids' leading hotel, the building received National Register of Historic Places designation in 1991 and became part of the Central Business District Commercial Historic District in 2015.
The interior spaces showcase Italian Renaissance Revival design elements, reflecting the architectural preferences and social standards of early 20th century American hotels.
Following extensive renovations after the 2008 Cedar River flood, the building now houses 96 apartment units with commercial spaces on the ground floor.
The structure required a $14.4 million investment to transform from flood damage into residential spaces while maintaining its Georgian Revival architectural features.
