Founded in 1954 by the International College of Surgeons, the museum resides in a 1917 mansion designed as a replica of the Petit Trianon at Versailles.
The museum maintains a collection of 7,000 medical artifacts and 600 artworks, including the Hall of Immortals featuring statues of notable medical pioneers.
Visitors can explore the museum Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and weekends from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with full wheelchair accessibility.
Among the notable exhibits are an Austrian amputation saw with reversible blade and the Lindbergh perfusion pump invented by Charles Lindbergh and Alexis Carrel.
