John Stewart Houses, Renaissance Revival rowhouses in Center City, Philadelphia, United States.

The John Stewart Houses consist of five connected residential structures at 1020-1028 Spruce Street, featuring symmetrical designs and classical architectural elements.

Built in 1870 with a construction loan of 61,000 dollars, these houses were designed by architect John Stewart and constructed by carpenter Henry Phillippi.

The National Register of Historic Places listed these properties in 1979, recognizing their role in Philadelphia's residential development during the late 19th century.

Located at the intersection of Spruce Street and 10th Street, these houses maintain their original structural elements while serving as private residences.

After Stewart's death, these five properties were sold through a sheriff's auction in 1874, marking a significant transition in their early ownership.
