The Princeton Club is a pair of connected buildings on Locust Street featuring Colonial Revival and Late Gothic Revival styles. The two structures were later joined together and now house a restaurant.
The organization was founded in 1868 and moved to these buildings in 1910, with structural connections made in later years. These additions in 1915 and 1919 created a larger unified space for the members.
The club served as a central gathering place for Princeton alumni, providing dedicated spaces for meetings and social functions according to its 1912 Yearbook.
The site sits in central Philadelphia and is easily reached on foot from nearby neighborhoods. Keep in mind that interiors are primarily accessible to restaurant diners today.
The complex shows the work of two different architects from separate periods. Frank Furness designed one building while Lindley Johnson contributed to the other, creating an interesting blend of design approaches.
