Lake of the Ozarks State Park

Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a woodland park along a Missouri reservoir shoreline with trails, beaches, and boat access points. The grounds feature limestone bluffs, wooded coves, and varied terrain throughout.

The park opened in 1946 following construction of the reservoir for power generation and flood management. The lake itself transformed the landscape when the dam was completed.

Educational programs throughout the year inform visitors about local wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and natural resource management within the Missouri park system.

The park has beaches, boat rentals, and camping areas spread across its grounds. Visitors should plan which section to visit based on their preferred activities since it covers a large area.

The park contains about 12 miles (19 kilometers) of marked hiking trails that wind through different forest types and lead to hidden coves. These paths connect visitors to spots not easily accessible from the water.
