Lawrence Township, Township in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States
Lawrence Township spans across 22 square miles between the Delaware Valley region and Raritan Valley region, serving as a suburban community outside New York City.
Initially established as Maidenhead Township in 1697, the area received its current name in 1816 to honor Captain James Lawrence from the War of 1812.
The Lawrence Township Historic District contains 550 acres along Route 206, displaying multiple architectural designs from different construction periods throughout its development.
The municipality maintains seven public schools from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, while also hosting the Lawrenceville School and Rider University.
The Quaker Bridge Mall, opened in 1975, functions as the primary commercial center with more than 100 retail establishments serving the local population.
