LeFrak City, Multi-tower residential complex in Corona, Queens, United States.
LeFrak City is a large residential complex with twenty 17-story apartment towers spread across 40 acres in Queens. The development houses thousands of residents in thousands of apartments.
The complex was built between 1962 and 1971 on former marshland, transforming the area into modern housing. This large construction project fundamentally reshaped the neighborhood.
The buildings carry names of world cities that were assigned during the 1964 New York World's Fair, reflecting the diversity of people living here.
The grounds include tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pools, and other facilities within walking distance. A library branch and shops are also nearby for daily needs.
A major renovation in the early 2010s updated the buildings with solar panels and refreshed facades. The area also gained one of the city's first robotic security systems during this renovation.
