Liberty Mutual Tower, High-rise building in Back Bay, Boston, United States
Liberty Mutual Tower is a modern high-rise building in Back Bay with 22 floors, distinguished by its triangular form with curved edges. The rounded corners follow the surrounding street patterns and create a connection to the existing urban layout.
Construction began in 2011 and completed in 2013, designed by the architectural firm Childs Bertman Tseckares Inc. The project was built as a new corporate headquarters and has shaped the area's appearance since then.
The building creates public spaces including an urban park and water wall where visitors can stop and pause. The stainless steel sculpture 'Uplift' by Mia Pearlman shapes the visual character and shows how public art becomes part of everyday surroundings.
The building houses offices and a two-level cafeteria as well as underground parking, making access straightforward. Visitors can explore the public areas, particularly the urban park with its water wall in the outdoor space.
A glass pedestrian bridge connects the tower to the historic 1917 Salada Tea Building, allowing direct passage without stepping outside. This connection spans both space and time, linking two very different architectural eras.
