Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park is an urban park in Hudson County with two sections connected by bridges over a major road, covering approximately 273 acres combined. The eastern section contains numerous sports fields and recreational facilities for different activities.

The park opened in 1905 as West Side Park and was designed by prominent landscape architects. The name was later changed to honor an important historical figure.

The park bears the name of Abraham Lincoln, reflecting how the community honors historical figures in its public spaces. This naming choice shows how communities express their values through places they share.

The park is divided into two areas, so it is worth visiting both sides to experience the different facilities available. The eastern section focuses on sports fields, while the western section offers other recreational options.

The most notable structure is a monumental fountain that stands about 53 feet tall with distinctive animal-shaped water spouts. This fountain is recognized as one of the largest concrete structures of its type in the region.
