Mana Contemporary

Mana Contemporary is an art museum in Jersey City housed in a converted industrial building that offers over one million square feet of space. The facility includes exhibition areas, artist studios, and archive sections used by rotating shows and permanent collections.

The museum was founded in 2011 and grew from an art transportation and logistics business that handled collections. This hands-on experience with artworks provided the foundation for transforming the location into a major arts venue.

The space hosts collections from various artists and archives that serve as a gathering point for different artistic communities. Visitors encounter contemporary art forms and established collections that are regularly rearranged to offer fresh perspectives.

Visitors should allow plenty of time since the grounds are vast and can take several hours to explore. It helps to check what is currently on view beforehand, as offerings change regularly and some areas are not always open to the public.

The building was constructed in 1965 as a factory and retains its original industrial architecture with raw concrete walls and large skylights. This authenticity makes every visit an experience between contemporary art and industrial heritage.
