Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World

Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World is an amusement and water park in Grand Island, New York, covering roughly 85 acres (34 hectares). The complex combines roller coasters and rides with water slides, pools, and a lazy river, divided into several themed zones for children and adults.

The site opened in 1961 under the name Fantasy Island with five themed areas, accompanied at the time by a local television program. After several ownership changes, the park adopted its current name in 2021 and expanded the water sections.

The water park section draws its name from the famous falls, even though they lie over 12 miles (20 kilometers) away. Families cool off in the pools and slides on hot days, while others prefer the traditional rides scattered throughout the grounds.

The park opens Tuesday through Sunday until early September, with visitor numbers rising on weekends and during hot weather. Alongside dining options and souvenir shops, a campground next door allows for longer stays.

A wooden roller coaster called Silver Comet ranks among the older attractions and draws fans of classic rides. In the Western Town section, visitors can try gem mining, an activity popular with children.
