Metropolitan Oval

Metropolitan Oval is a soccer complex in Maspeth, Queens covering 4.2 acres with a synthetic turf field and lighting equipment. The facility accommodates multiple matches weekly and hosts youth programs serving different age groups throughout the year.

The field was established in 1925 by German and German-Hungarian immigrants as an American soccer field following European traditions. Since its founding, the site has remained a continuous hub for the sport and community in Queens.

You hear multiple languages echo across the field during matches, including Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and English spoken by spectators and families. This place serves as a gathering point where immigrant communities and their descendants keep their soccer traditions alive.
