Milford Lake

Milford Lake is a large reservoir in eastern Kansas with a long, winding shoreline that creates numerous coves and bays. The water is surrounded by rolling hills and green banks where visitors can fish, camp, and explore nature.

The lake came into being in the 1960s when a dam was built to hold back the river and manage water flow. Two settlements disappeared underwater when the reservoir filled.

Several campgrounds around the lake offer different accommodation options, from basic campsites to comfortable cabins with utilities. Spring through fall is the best time to visit, when weather is mild and all facilities are open.

The lake is a popular fishing destination, especially for catching walleye and bass in its deeper sections. Many visitors discover underwater rock formations that attract larger fish and make the lake rewarding for those who fish or dive.
