Narragansett Trail

The Narragansett Trail is a marked hiking route that winds through three towns in Connecticut, offering a mix of forest walks and open areas. Along the way, you encounter rocky outcrops and natural ledges that shape the landscape and make the terrain varied and interesting.

The route passes through lands where Native American communities lived before colonial times, and old settlement sites remain in the region. These traces of the past can still be felt when walking through the area.

The Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Narragansett Council, and Rhode Island Scouts BSA collaborate to maintain this Blue-Blazed Trail system for public use.

Several entry points with parking areas give you different ways to access this route. Hikers, runners, and winter sports enthusiasts can all use the trail depending on conditions.

The trail reaches two high points where you can see far across the surrounding land and get views of the wider region. Nearby water features like ponds and forests add to the walking experience in ways many visitors discover only by exploring.
