Mystic Seaport Light, Wooden lighthouse in Mystic, United States.
Mystic Seaport Light is a white wooden lighthouse at the waterfront of Mystic Seaport Museum. The two-story structure with its glass lantern room stands about 38 feet tall and now functions as an exhibition space about navigation and maritime life.
This replica lighthouse was completed in 1966 and dedicated in 1967, modeled after the 1901 Brant Point Light in Nantucket. It later became an active navigational light in 2014 after receiving a Fresnel lens from the Coast Guard.
The lighthouse houses the Sentinels of the Sea exhibit, which presents multimedia displays about American maritime navigation through five LCD screens.
The lighthouse is located within the museum grounds and can be accessed through the main museum area. It is best reached by parking at the museum and following the waterfront paths to find it.
This lighthouse operates as a real navigational light and can be spotted by boat captains on the water. The Fresnel lens inside was originally designed for an actual coastal light station.
