New York Zendo Shobo-Ji

New York Zendo Shobo-Ji is a Buddhist meditation center located in a renovated carriage house on the Upper East Side. The space features a meditation hall where daily zazen sessions and chanting practices are held throughout the week.

The center was established in 1968 and represented the introduction of Rinzai Zen practice to Manhattan. Since then, it has remained an active site for Buddhist meditation in the city.
