Park Avenue Armory, Gothic Revival armory in Upper East Side, United States

The Seventh Regiment Armory spans an entire block on Park Avenue, featuring red brick walls, granite trim, and three prominent square towers.

Built between 1877 and 1880, the armory served as headquarters for the Seventh Regiment, which protected New York City during civil disturbances.

The Veterans Room demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship with decorative elements by Louis Comfort Tiffany and other leading American artists of the 1880s.

The building houses a vast drill hall and administrative spaces, providing facilities for military training, art exhibitions, and community gatherings.

This military structure stands as the only armory in the United States constructed and furnished entirely through private funding from wealthy New Yorkers.
