Trump Palace Condominiums, Residential skyscraper in Upper East Side Manhattan, US
Trump Palace Condominiums is a 54-story residential tower on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, located on East 69th Street near Lexington Avenue. The building rises about 190 meters (623 feet) and features a granite facade with Art Deco-inspired details, housing private condominiums across its upper floors.
The tower was built on the site of the former New York Foundling Hospital, which was demolished after the property changed hands in the late 1980s. Construction started in 1989 and the building was completed in the early 1990s, during a period when large residential towers were reshaping parts of Manhattan.
The building sits in one of the wealthiest parts of Manhattan, where the streetscape is defined by brownstones, luxury boutiques, and quiet residential blocks. The tower's granite facade and large scale make it stand out sharply against the lower buildings that surround it.
The building stands on East 69th Street and is easy to reach by subway or bus, with several stops a short walk away. It is a private residence and not open to visitors, but the exterior is fully visible from the sidewalk.
For about 25 years, the building held the title of tallest residential structure on the Upper East Side, a record that stood until 2017 when a newer tower surpassed it. During that time it was the first roofline many people spotted when approaching the neighborhood from the south.
