Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery

Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery is a military burial ground in Rittman with grave sites, cremation niches, and memorial gardens spread across the land. The facility provides several options for final resting places and honors those who served.

The cemetery was founded in 2000 as Ohio's second national military burial facility. Its establishment reflected the Department of Veterans Affairs' commitment to providing dignified final resting places for service members.

The cemetery commemorates military service through scattered memorials that recognize veterans and their contributions. Walking through the grounds, you encounter these tributes placed among the burial areas.

The office handles inquiries on weekdays during regular business hours, while the grounds are open to visitors from sunrise to sunset every day. Paths are well maintained, making it easy to walk and pay respects.

The facility nearly doubled in size in 2022 when a former golf course was acquired and added to the grounds. This expansion created room for many more families to be interred in coming years.
