Akron Fossils & Science Center, Science museum in Copley Township, Ohio
The Akron Fossils & Science Center features interactive tour stations, hands-on science activities, and exhibits focused on various scientific interpretations including creation theories.
The educational facility opened its doors on May 26, 2005, under the leadership of William Sanderson II, who brought his background in science and finance.
The center maintains exhibits covering topics from abiogenesis to Mount St. Helens, while incorporating both scientific and religious perspectives in its educational approach.
The museum operates from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays during off-season, with extended days from Tuesday through Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Visitors can interact directly with exhibits rather than viewing them behind glass, handle genuine fossils, and create their own fossil replicas to take home.
