Constructed in 1868, the Pejepscot Paper Company manufactured book and newspaper paper, producing 5 tons daily and employing 75 workers by 1878.
The mill represents the industrial development of Maine, transforming from the Topsham Paper Company through multiple owners who expanded its manufacturing capabilities.
The Renaissance Revival building now functions as a mixed-use commercial property, housing offices and the Sea Dog Brewing Company with a riverside patio.
The building stands on a projecting point into the Androscoggin River, incorporating a granite foundation and a distinctive gambrel roof design.
