Perrine's Bridge, Historic covered bridge in New Paltz, New York, US

The bridge spans 138 feet across the Wallkill River with a wooden structure featuring a lattice design and Burr-arch construction style.

Built in 1850 at a cost of $2,200, the bridge served as a vital transportation link connecting farms and businesses in Ulster County.

Named after James W. Perrine, who operated an inn near the bridge site, this structure represents the engineering techniques of 19th-century American bridge construction.

The bridge stands near Interstate 87 and accommodates pedestrian traffic, offering direct access to walking trails and recreational areas along the Wallkill River.

At present, Perrine's Bridge holds the distinction of being the second oldest covered bridge in New York State.
