Radha Madhav Dham, Hindu temple in Hays County, United States
Radha Madhav Dham is a Hindu temple complex in Hays County, Texas, featuring a main building of white and blue granite beneath a tall dome. The complex spreads across a large site and includes gardens, meditation spaces, and several buildings for worship and community activities.
The complex was established in 1990 as Barsana Dham and became the first Hindu temple in Austin. The site grew to become one of the largest Hindu centers in North America.
The complex follows raganuga bhakti traditions and offers classes in Hindi, yoga, and Indian dance. Hindu festivals throughout the year bring families from across the region together for celebration and prayer.
The temple complex opens daily from early morning until evening for worship and meditation. Sunday services attract hundreds of families, and visitors should allow time to walk from the parking areas.
The gardens and paths were designed to mirror Braj, the sacred land in India where Radha and Krishna are said to have lived. Visitors can walk through areas named and shaped after features from this Hindu narrative.
