Ray Winder Field, Baseball stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ray Winder Field was a baseball stadium in Little Rock with wooden seating and a distinctive grandstand structure. The venue featured a 55-foot right field fence that protected the nearby Interstate 630 from flying balls.
The stadium opened in 1932 as Travelers Field and received its new name in 1966 to honor Ray Winder. He had dedicated 52 years to promoting professional baseball in the region.
The field hosted multiple Negro League baseball teams during the 1940s and 1950s, including the Birmingham Black Barons and Kansas City Monarchs.
The venue was compact and easy to navigate, with direct street access from the surrounding area. Visitors found adequate seating in the wooden stands with clear views of the entire playing field.
On June 1, 1991, the stadium exceeded its capacity when 12,000 people gathered to watch Fernando Valenzuela return to professional baseball.
