The Ramsay estate extends across 78.4 acres and contains multiple structures including a main house, barn, cottage, greenhouse ruins, and various outbuildings.
The property features preserved slave cabin ruins from 1830, which were relocated to their current position on the grounds in 1930.
Charlottesville architect Milton L. Grigg designed modifications to the main house in 1937, 1947, and the early 1950s, incorporating Classical Revival elements.
The estate received recognition through its listing on the Virginia Landmarks Register in December 2004 and the National Register of Historic Places in March 2005.
The estate maintains its original circular turnaround from the 1930s and includes specialized structures such as a smoke house, potting shed, and equipment shed.
