Robert Frost Farm, Mountainside farm and literary site in Ripton, United States.
Robert Frost Farm comprises a 19th-century farmhouse and a wooden writing cabin set across roughly 150 acres in the Green Mountains. The two buildings sit within forested land and meadows that preserve the appearance of a working rural property from that era.
Frost acquired the property in 1921 and used it as a seasonal residence during his most productive years as a poet. The place became the setting for several significant works before he left in 1963.
The writing cabin shows where Frost crafted his verses and drew inspiration directly from the surrounding landscape. The place demonstrates how deeply the poet connected his creative work to rural living.
The site is open to visitors year-round during daylight hours at no cost, maintained by Middlebury College. Wear proper walking shoes since paths traverse hilly terrain and uneven ground.
Frost planted an apple orchard between the cabin and main house, which continues to grow and shape the landscape today. This personal planting reveals his bond to daily farm life and the nature surrounding him.
