Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chicago, Hindu temple in Bartlett, Illinois, United States.
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir features intricate carvings made from Italian marble and Turkish limestone across its 27-acre complex in suburban Chicago.
The temple construction began with a small group meeting in homes during 1972 and evolved into this permanent structure, officially opening on August 7, 2004.
The temple holds five daily aarti ceremonies where devotees gather to sing praises and participate in food offerings to deities including Swaminarayan and Radha Krishna.
Visitors can access the temple from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with photography prohibited inside to maintain the sacred environment.
The temple received the Chicago Building Congress Merit Award in 2004 and recognition from the American Institute of Architects as one of Illinois' 150 Great Places.
