Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre, Biblical theatre in Ronks, United States
The Millennium Theatre is a performance venue in Ronks with about 2000 seats spread across three levels and a 300-foot wraparound stage that surrounds the audience on three sides. The stage design lets spectators watch the action from multiple angles around them.
The theatre opened in 1998 and traces its roots to an original project started by Glenn and Shirley Eshelman in 1976. The current building replaced an earlier facility that was destroyed by fire.
The productions here bring Biblical stories to life through elaborate costumes and stage effects that pull the audience directly into the action. Visitors experience how technical skill and craftsmanship combine to make these narratives come alive on stage.
Plan to spend several hours for a full performance and take time to explore the facility beforehand. It helps to arrive early so you can check out the different seating levels and find a spot with a good view of the stage.
Trained animals like horses, camels, and elephants appear during performances, bringing an unexpected dimension to the shows. This is one of the few theaters in the region where large animals are regularly woven into scenes.
