Shikellamy State Park

Shikellamy State Park is a recreational area with two distinct sections along the Susquehanna River. One area features overlook views from the western shore, while the other section provides a marina with boat slips and water access.

The park was developed in two phases, with the overlook section opening in 1960 and the marina coming later. The site honors an 18th-century Iroquois leader who lived and worked in this region.

The water in the park is held back by a massive inflatable dam that creates a large lake. This system enables water sports and fishing across a vast reservoir.
