Rishel Covered Bridge, Covered bridge in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, US.

The wooden Rishel Covered Bridge stretches 110 feet across Chillisquaque Creek with its single-span Burr Truss construction connecting East and West Chillisquaque Townships.

Built in 1830 by John Shriner Jr. and Zacheus Braley, this structure represents the oldest remaining covered bridge in Pennsylvania and earned National Register status in 1979.

The bridge stands as an engineering testament to nineteenth-century American bridge building methods, utilizing local materials and traditional construction techniques prevalent in Pennsylvania.

Visitors can find parking at the southwestern end of the bridge, and a height restriction bar prevents oversized vehicles from entering the structure.

Following its 1990 renovation, the bridge maintains its original function while connecting modern traffic between townships across Chillisquaque Creek in Northumberland County.
