South Side German Historic District, German heritage district in Quincy, US.

The South Side German Historic District features architectural styles from the late 1800s, including Gothic Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne residential buildings.

German immigrants established this neighborhood in the 19th century, constructing numerous buildings that reflect their architectural preferences and settlement patterns.

The district includes St. Boniface Church from the 1860s, which represents the religious traditions of German settlers in the Mississippi River region.

The neighborhood extends south of downtown Quincy and contains preserved residential structures, with walking tours available for architectural exploration.

Local residents historically called this area 'Calftown' due to the numerous calves kept by German immigrant families during the settlement period.
