St. Augustine Catholic Church and Cemetery, Romanesque Revival church and cemetery in Trenton, Wisconsin.
The fieldstone church building stands three miles south of State Route 33 on County Highway Y, featuring traditional mortared stone construction throughout its structure.
Bavarian Catholic immigrants established this religious center in 1856, with missionary priests conducting services during its first twenty-four years of operation.
The church basement functioned as a school where the Sisters of St. Agnes taught children both German language skills and religious education.
The property now serves primarily for special occasions such as holiday celebrations, weddings, and funerals since regular services ended in 1985.
Milwaukee artist Hans Schmeidl created a large painting of St. Augustine behind the altar in 1925, replacing the original whitewashed interior walls.
