Kevich Light, Private lighthouse in Grafton, United States.
Kevich Light is a white cylindrical tower standing on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan in Grafton. The structure rises approximately 15 meters and features a navigation beacon system maintained by its private operators.
The lighthouse was built in 1981 by Brana and Neva Kevich and later certified by the U.S. Coast Guard as a private aid to navigation. This recognition confirmed its role in supporting shipping safety on the lake.
The lighthouse continues the maritime heritage of Port Ulao, where steamers once collected cordwood delivered via a 300-meter pier in the 1840s.
The beacon operates on an 8-second cycle with alternating periods of light and darkness, visible across much of the lake. Visitors should approach from the water side when possible to get the best view of the tower and its signal system.
The lighthouse maintains the second-highest elevation above water level among all Lake Michigan beacons, reaching 50 meters above the surface.
