Starwood Amphitheatre, Open-air theatre in Antioch, Nashville, US.
The Starwood Amphitheatre was an open-air theatre in Antioch, south of Nashville, designed to host concerts and live performances under the sky. It featured a covered pavilion with reserved seating and a spacious lawn area for general admission, with a total capacity around 17,000.
The venue opened in 1986 and served as Nashville's primary outdoor music stage for two decades before shutting down in 2006. The structures were demolished the following year.
The venue became a gathering place for Nashville residents seeking live music in the open air, drawing crowds of all ages for seasonal performances. The mix of reserved seating and open lawn created different ways to experience shows, depending on where people chose to sit or stand.
The site was well positioned near Interstate 24 and Tennessee State Route 171, making it accessible for visitors arriving by car. Events typically ran during warmer months from April through October.
A secondary stage near the north entrance showcased local bands as crowds entered the grounds, creating an opening experience before the main performances. During larger music festivals, a third temporary stage would appear to accommodate more artists performing simultaneously.
