Stratton Brook State Park, State park in Simsbury, United States
Stratton Brook State Park covers 145 acres of woodland with white pines, brooks, and a bike trail connecting the Farmington River Trail to Farmington Canal Heritage Trail.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection established this recreational area in 1949, originally named Massacoe State Forest to demonstrate forest fire control methods.
The Massaco Forest Pavilion, constructed in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, stands as a testament to New Deal era public works projects.
The park opens daily from 8:00 AM until sunset, with free entry for in-state vehicles and paid admission for out-of-state vehicles at rates of $10 on weekdays.
In 1996, Stratton Brook became Connecticut's first fully wheelchair-accessible state park, making all facilities available to visitors with mobility requirements.
