Walters Bath No. 2, Public bathhouse in southwest Baltimore, Maryland
The brick building measures 40 by 70.5 feet and features Flemish bond construction with black headers and Maryland limestone decorative elements.
Henry Walters commissioned the construction of this bathhouse in 1901 as one of four facilities he donated to serve Baltimore's growing population.
The Renaissance Revival architecture of Walters Bath No. 2 represents the early 20th-century municipal commitment to public health and sanitation.
Located at 900 Washington Boulevard, the structure stands as a Baltimore City Landmark and maintains its original architectural features.
The building operated as a public bath until 1959, when the widespread adoption of indoor plumbing in Baltimore's row houses made it obsolete.
