Waldo Water Tower, Water tower in Waldo neighborhood, Kansas City, US.
The Waldo Water Tower rises 134 feet high with 18-inch thick walls and features a white castle design with 12 arched windows and crenellations.
Built in 1920 by the Tifft Construction Company, this reinforced concrete structure operated as a water supply facility until 1957 with a capacity of 1 million gallons.
From 1929 to 1946, the World Book Encyclopedia highlighted this tower as an early example of reinforced concrete construction methods in the United States.
The tower stands at the intersection of 75th Street and Holmes Road within Tower Park, protected by a chain-link fence with barbed wire security measures.
The Kansas City Council allocated 850,000 dollars in 2015 for the restoration of this structure, which received recognition as Missouri's first American Water Landmark.
