John Wornall House Museum

The John Wornall House Museum is a brick home built in 1858 with rooms furnished to show how a family lived in the mid-1800s. Each space is arranged with period pieces and household items that illustrate the daily routines and living standards of that time.

The house was built in 1858 by John B. Wornall and served as a field hospital for both sides during a major conflict. The property sits on land that was once part of a much larger estate Wornall acquired in the 1840s.

The rooms reveal how a wealthy 1850s family lived, with furnishings and objects showing their daily routines and use of domestic space. The arrangement of rooms and preserved details convey a sense of their everyday customs and the way they organized their household.
