John Wornall House Museum, Greek Revival house museum in Kansas City, Missouri.
The John Wornall House Museum features hand-fired brick construction, period furnishings, and exhibits that represent daily life from the pre-Civil War era.
Built in 1858 by John B. Wornall, this residence served as a field hospital for both Union and Confederate forces during the Battle of Westport.
The museum preserves one of only four remaining Civil War period homes in Kansas City, displaying domestic arrangements and social customs of 19th-century Missouri.
Located at 6115 Wornall Road, the museum offers guided tours through furnished rooms that demonstrate the living conditions of a wealthy 1850s family.
The house stands on land that extended from present-day 59th to 67th streets, purchased from John Calvin McCoy with five enslaved persons in 1843.
