Massaro House, Private residence on Petre Island, Lake Mahopac, US
The Massaro House features a 25-foot cantilevered deck extending over Lake Mahopac and incorporates 26 triangular skylights in its construction design.
Engineer Ahmed Chahroudi commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design the house in 1949, but financial constraints led to only building a smaller guest cottage.
The residence reflects mid-century architectural principles through its integration with natural surroundings and extensive use of geometric patterns throughout the structure.
Located 50 miles north of New York City, the 8,415-square-foot residence includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and modern amenities like air conditioning.
The property spans 10.37 acres on a private island, accessible by car, boat, or helicopter, and includes a tea house, beach, dock, and helipad.
