Col. Gustavus A. Palmer House, Greek Revival residence in Crystal Lake, Illinois
The Col. Gustavus A. Palmer House features a two-story front section, one-and-a-half-story rear structure, and thirty windows distributed across brick elevations.
Built in 1858 by Andrew Jackson Simon, the residence belonged to Colonel Gustavus Palmer, who received 80 acres of land from the US government for military service.
The National Register of Historic Places listed property now functions as the Crystal Lake Historical Society's museum, preserving local heritage.
