New England Civil War Museum, History museum in Vernon, Connecticut, US
The New England Civil War Museum displays a collection of weapons, personal items, and military memorabilia across multiple exhibition rooms in the Memorial Building.
The museum occupies a former Grand Army of the Republic Hall, where Thomas F. Burpee Post #71 conducted meetings from 1890 until 1929.
The O'Connell-Chapman Library contains over 1000 volumes of Civil War literature and original copies of The War of the Rebellion documents.
Visitors can explore the museum on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 AM and 3 PM at 14 Park Place, or schedule appointments for different times.
The Alden Skinner Camp #45 of the Sons of Union Veterans has held monthly meetings in this hall since 1890, making it the oldest GAR Hall nationally.
