Le Mans Academy was a private Catholic boarding school for middle school students near La Porte, Indiana. The campus sat on roughly 700 acres and was operated by the Brothers of Holy Cross from the University of Notre Dame.
The school opened in 1955 in Watertown, Wisconsin and relocated to Rolling Prairie, Indiana in 1968. It continued serving students until spring 2003.
The school emphasized discipline and structure through daily uniforms and military drills that shaped student life. This approach reflected the educational philosophy of the Holy Cross Brothers who ran the institution.
The sprawling grounds offered ample space for outdoor activities and sports programs throughout the year. The site is no longer operational today, so visitors are only able to see the historic buildings and landscape.
Steven Cash served as the final headmaster and was the first leader without a religious background. This shift marked a turning point in how the school was managed before it closed.
