Hesston Steam Museum, Steam locomotive museum in Hesston, United States
The Hesston Steam Museum spans 155 acres, featuring four different gauge railroads and numerous pieces of steam-powered and vintage farm equipment.
Founded in 1956 by steam enthusiasts, the museum began with 22 acres and constructed Duck Lake as a water source for steam engines.
The museum preserves industrial heritage through operational steam locomotives, traction engines, and a functioning sawmill from the early 1900s.
The museum operates seasonally with special events during Halloween and Christmas, offering train rides, demonstrations, and refreshments at an on-site restaurant.
A three-rail dual-gauge railroad system enables both 3-foot and 2-foot narrow-gauge trains to operate on the same two-and-a-half-mile route.
