Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area, State park in Chesterfield, New Hampshire, US.
Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area is a protected natural space featuring a rocky gorge carved by Wilde Brook, where the water cascades over rocky ledges and forms waterfalls. A network of trails winds through the area, giving visitors access to different viewpoints along the stream.
A local farmer acquired this land in 1936 to protect it from logging operations. The property eventually passed to a conservation organization that continues to manage and preserve it.
The natural area promotes environmental conservation while providing recreational opportunities through its maintained wilderness loop trail and seasonal visitor center.
The site sits along Route 9 and operates on a carry-in, carry-out system where visitors must remove all trash. Wear appropriate footwear since trails cross rocky terrain, especially after rain when surfaces become slippery.
The trail network follows both sides of Wilde Brook, allowing hikers to observe the water features and rock formations from multiple perspectives.
