Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, Natural limestone gorge in Greene County, Ohio.

The 268-acre preserve contains dolomite cliffs and limestone formations along a 2-mile stretch of the Little Miami River.

Native American tribes inhabited this region before settlers established water-powered mills along the river in the 1800s.

The preserve functions as an outdoor classroom where visitors learn about local geology, ecology, and natural conservation methods.

Visitors can access the preserve through multiple trails, including the Gorge Trail and Rim Trail, which form a 2-mile loop system.

The narrowest section of the gorge features observation decks overlooking dramatic limestone cliffs and the rushing Little Miami River below.
