TWA Hotel, Airport hotel at JFK International, Queens, United States
The TWA Hotel sits inside a former airline terminal at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens and offers 512 rooms across two wings. The central building with its curved concrete surfaces links the overnight areas and serves as reception and gathering space.
The terminal building was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1962 and served Trans World Airlines as a check-in hall for over 40 years. After standing empty for a long period, it reopened to visitors as a hotel in 2019.
The name refers to Trans World Airlines, the carrier that operated from this terminal for decades. Visitors see cabin crew uniforms, travel posters, and furnishings from the jet age displayed throughout the public areas.
Rooms are located in the two side wings and offer views either of the runway or of the central terminal building. A passageway connects the hotel complex directly to the active airport area.
A restored 1958 Lockheed Constellation aircraft sits outside the entrance and can be entered. Inside, a bar serves cocktails while guests look through the cockpit windows.
