Dorfbahn Warth, Aerial lift in Warth, Austria.
The Dorfbahn Warth is an aerial lift in Warth that carries eight passengers per cabin. It connects a valley station with a mountain station over a relatively short distance and uses twelve detachable gondolas to do so.
The project was proposed in 1996 and the lift opened for service in 2017. Construction used components from an older lift system that had been decommissioned elsewhere.
This lift is part of the Arlberg ski region and connects small alpine villages together. It allows visitors to move easily between different locations in the area and participate in winter sports activities.
The ride is relatively short and takes about two and a half minutes. Space in the cabins is limited, so wait times can occur during busy periods.
Interestingly, most of the mechanical parts were not newly built but transferred from another location to the Arlberg region. This approach of reusing components made the project more economical and sustainable.
