Schloss Interlaken, Medieval castle and stately home in Interlaken, Switzerland.
The castle structure combines elements from different architectural periods, with a Gothic cloister and an early 14th-century church tower near the Japanese Garden.
Originally established as an Augustinian monastery in 1133, the building transformed into a governmental seat after the Protestant Reformation in 1525.
The castle complex includes preserved Gothic architectural elements, a chapel from 1452, and a monastery courtyard that represents Swiss religious heritage.
The castle grounds remain open to visitors from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM during spring and summer, with free access to the public park.
The building currently functions as the administrative center for the Interlaken-Oberhasli region and houses the civil registry office for East Oberland.
