Mörsburg Castle, Medieval castle in Oberwinterthur, Switzerland
The stone fortress stands on a hilltop in northeastern Switzerland, featuring defensive towers, thick walls, and a central courtyard overlooking the Töss River.
First mentioned in records around 950, the castle underwent major modifications between the 13th and 15th centuries under the control of Kyburger and Habsburg families.
The castle museum displays a collection of domestic items, weapons, ceramics, and glassware from the 17th and 18th centuries, managed by the Historical Association of Winterthur.
Visitors can explore the castle from May to October, Wednesday through Saturday between 14:00 and 17:00, with Sunday hours extending from 13:00 to 17:00.
Every Friday evening from May to October, the castle hosts wine and bread tastings in its Herrenstube, accompanied by local cheese and dried meat selections.
